Nos informa Paco Rossique de su hallazgo de un interesante artículo sobre la cueva de los nadadores en el Wadi Sora, según el que los nadadores podrían ser en realidad ¡langostas!

The "swimmers in the desert", are they really swimmers?

Almásy found the paintings of the "swimmers" and others in a cave on the western flank of Gilf Kebir in Egypt, which he called Wadi Sura, and he reproduced them. R. Schrott and M. Farin arranged a reprint of "Unbekannte Sahara", amended by other material, under the title "Schwimmer in der Wüste". Especially through the movie "The English Patient", after Ondaatje, the "swimmers in the desert" became widely known.

The legs are strangely bent upward in most examples or downward. They give the impression of extremities of insects.

The extremities of the "swimmers" look like the legs of insects.

No obstante las infinitas posibilidades de la interpretación el artículo resulta muy interesante al menos porque nos habla de una segunda cueva llamada Foggini, descubierta en 2002, al parecer a sólo 10 km de Wadi Sora y también en el Gilf Kebir y donde por supuesto también hay nadadores, también hay manos:
